The City of Lake Elsinore will celebrate the grand opening of its new Civic Center with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 1.
The event will begin at 4 p.m. at the new Civic Center, located at 130 S. Main Street. Free parking and shuttle service will be available from 184 S. Main Street.
The city said the grand opening will give the community an opportunity to experience the city’s newest public facility firsthand.
According to the city, the Civic Center will bring city services together in one location to create a more efficient experience for residents, businesses, developers and investors.
The facility was designed to improve collaboration between city departments and streamline services including development review, permitting, business assistance and other public services, the city said. The city added that the new building will help improve response times and support future growth.
“The opening of our new Civic Center represents far more than a new building—it represents our commitment to serving our community better,” Mayor Bob Magee said in a statement. “By bringing our teams together in one modern facility, we’re creating a more efficient Civic center that saves time, reduces costs, and makes it easier for residents, businesses, developers, and investors to work with the city.”
The city said the Civic Center is also part of its efforts to revitalize Historic Downtown Main Street by increasing activity in the area and supporting nearby restaurants, retailers and businesses.
The project is identified by the city as a catalyst project within the Dream Extreme 2040 Vision, which includes long-term goals for downtown revitalization, economic development and community improvements.
