Adelina Vega-Velasquez became the latest potential candidate in the Lake Elsinore City Council District 4 race after she was issued nomination papers on July 17.
Vega-Velasquez joins incumbent Councilmember Michael Carroll, who was previously issued nomination papers for the District 4 seat on July 13.
The District 4 seat is up for a partial-term election on Nov. 3, which will fill the remainder of the term through 2028. Carroll was appointed to the seat in 2025, after Councilmember Natasha Johnson resigned following her election to the California State Assembly.Â
Candidates have until Aug. 7 to file nomination papers for the election. Being issued nomination papers is the first step in the filing process, and candidates must complete the required paperwork before qualifying for the ballot.
The city will continue updating its candidate filing list as candidates are issued nomination papers, file paperwork and qualify for the ballot.
