Premier Media offers free webinar for prospective writers

Premier Media Group – the parent company of Menifee 24/7 and Elsinore 24/7 – is offering a series of online sessions to prepare prospective writers to cover local events.

This free program is geared toward high school and college students, but anyone can join. Whether you’re interested in filing reports for Premier Media outlets or simply want to improve your communication techniques, the Premier Media Writers Webinar can be a valuable resource for you.

The program will include one-hour Zoom sessions twice a week for three weeks beginning July 14, led by our editor, Doug Spoon — a veteran journalist of nearly 50 years, including years as a beat writer for the Dodgers, as sports editor of the San Gabriel Valley News Group, and 12 years as a journalism professor at Cal Poly Pomona. Doug has been co-owner and editor of Premier Media Group since 2013.

We have a special interest in developing correspondents at area high schools to report on sports events and other school issues. Instruction and interaction will take place regarding concise written reports for our websites and social media posts, including video presentations – one of the methods most attractive to young readers. Graduates of the program will be eligible for internships or paid freelance opportunities.
