The Lake Elsinore Unified School District Board of Trustees recognized Assistant Superintendent of Personnel Support Services Tracy Sepulveda during its June 11 meeting as she prepares to retire after 19 years with the district.
Superintendent Ryan Lewis presented Sepulveda with a farewell tribute, highlighting her years of service and leadership. Sepulveda joined LEUSD in 2007 and took on the role of assistant superintendent in 2016.
“For 19 years, Tracy has led with compassion, integrity and a heart of service, always putting people first,” Lewis said.
Lewis said Sepulveda helped support the hiring and development of thousands of employees across the district. He also highlighted the district’s Empowering Leadership program, which Sepulveda started two years ago to help employees develop leadership skills. Lewis said more than 50 employees have participated in the program since it began.
“Tracy is leaving our district rooted in modeling professionalism that is both steady and grounded in authenticity and purpose,” Lewis said. ”Her genuine care for people and her desire to build meaningful, long-standing relationships is something we all aspire to do.”
Following the presentation, Sepulveda thanked district staff, trustees and colleagues for their support throughout her time with the district.
“It has been my honor to come here and serve since 2007,” Sepulveda said. “It’s been a blessing. I consider you all my friends, so hopefully our relationships don’t stop, but they will continue to grow in a different way. I just love you all, and thank you very much.”
Trustees also shared personal remarks, thanking Sepulveda for her professionalism, kindness and dedication to the district.
“I just wanted to obviously congratulate you on just an amazing career and all the lives you’ve touched in our district,” Trustee Heidi Dodd said. “And even though your presence is going to be greatly missed, you have to know that the impact that you leave behind on this district is pretty amazing.”
With Sepulveda retiring, the board also approved leadership changes within the district’s executive cabinet. Dr. Tricia Thompson, currently the assistant superintendent of student support services, will step into Sepulveda’s role as assistant superintendent of personnel support services. Dr. Ryan Maine will take over as assistant superintendent of student support services.
