Carp anglers can participate in the second annual Carp Quest on May 17 at Launch Pointe Recreation Destination & RV Resort.
This event is open to individuals and teams using rod and reel or bowfishing methods, with options to fish from shore or from a vessel. Shore and boat divisions will compete separately.
Check-in begins at 6 a.m., and fishing starts at 7 a.m. All carp must be weighed at the official weigh station by 2 p.m.
Entry fees are $120 for a two-person team or $60 for individuals. Boat-based bowfishing teams can include up to four participants.
Teams can weigh up to 10 carp for the main competition. Prizes will be awarded for the heaviest total catch, along with side pots for the largest and smallest carp. Prize amounts will depend on the number of entries.
Participants must follow California Department of Fish and Wildlife regulations.
Registration for this event is open through May 12, with a May 1 deadline to receive a T-shirt and lunch for each team member.
