Lake Elsinore Diamond Stadium will turn into an outdoor movie theater Aug. 28 for a free “Flix on the Field” event.
The movie will be displayed on the stadium’s giant outfield videoboard with stadium sound, according to the Diamond Tap Room.
Gates will open at 7 p.m., with the movie beginning at 8 p.m.
Attendees can bring blankets and spread out on the field to watch the movie or sit in the stadium stands.
The movie has not yet been selected, and community members can vote for which one will be shown. The four options are “Minecraft,” “The Goonies,” “The Mandalorian and Grogu” and “Jurassic Park.” Votes can be cast online here.
Admission and parking are free, according to the Diamond Tap Room. Concessions will be open for snacks and drinks.
The Diamond Tap Room describes “Flix on the Field” as the Storm’s version of “Movies in the Park,” bringing movie screenings to the stadium.
Outside food and beverages are not allowed. Food also cannot be eaten on the field and must be consumed in the stands. Chairs and wagons are not permitted on the field.
Additional “Flix on the Field” dates are expected to be announced in the future, according to the Diamond Tap Room.
