FIGS Volleyball Club opening indoor facility in Lake Elsinore

A new indoor volleyball training facility is expected to open in Lake Elsinore this fall as the city continues to expand its sports and recreation scene.

FIGS Volleyball Club is opening a nearly 20,000-square-foot indoor facility in Lake Elsinore, according to a city press release. The facility is currently under construction and is expected to open in early fall 2026.

The facility will offer year-round youth volleyball instruction, competitive training, skills clinics, seasonal camps, leagues and open gym opportunities for athletes of different ages and skill levels.

City officials said the project supports the city’s Action Sports Industry Growth & Attraction Plan, which was adopted unanimously by the Lake Elsinore City Council earlier this year. The plan identifies volleyball as one of several sports intended to attract visitors, expand recreational opportunities and support local businesses.

“Lake Elsinore is quickly becoming one of Southern California’s most exciting destinations for sports, recreation, and active lifestyles,” Mayor Bob Magee said. “The addition of FIGS Volleyball Club reflects the momentum our community is building as we implement our Action Sports Industry Growth & Attraction Plan.”

FIGS Volleyball Club was founded by Juan Figueroa, who serves as chief executive officer, and is operated by Evita Figueroa, the club’s director of operations.

Juan Figueroa said the city’s focus on sports and recreation made Lake Elsinore the right location for the club.

“We couldn’t be more excited to become part of the Lake Elsinore community,” Figueroa said. “The City’s momentum, leadership, and commitment to becoming a regional hub for action sports made this an easy decision for us.”

The new facility adds volleyball to the city’s list of recreational activities, including motocross, BMX, skateboarding, wake sports, skydiving, baseball, hockey and off-road racing.

Economic Development Director Gina Gonzalez said recruiting FIGS Volleyball Club shows the city’s Action Sports Industry Growth & Attraction Plan is producing results.

“Our strategy is focused on attracting unique recreational amenities that enhance quality of life, create tourism opportunities, support local businesses, and provide new experiences for residents,” Gonzalez said.

The city said it will continue recruiting sports-related businesses, recreation providers, entertainment destinations, hospitality investments and other commercial development as part of its long-term economic development strategy.
